Welcome to Jenks

Named to woo a railroad executive, the city of Jenks had a long-standing relationship with the Midland Valley Railroad. After being established on July 15, 1905, Jenks received the benefits of the boom of the nearby Glenn Pool oilfield. Many Jenks  residents attribute the town’s success and growth to the community’s desire to work together. Some initiatives the town undertook included uniting to save the town from flooding in 1948, revitalizing downtown and the riverfront area, and creating a prominent school district. Today, Jenks styles itself as the “Antique Capital of Oklahoma” due to its charming downtown antique shops and boutiques.
