Find out about the rich military history and leadership lessons to be learned at this small but robust history center that is the Tommy Franks Museum in Hobart, OK.
On August 2, 1902, thousands of hopeful homesteaders arrived in what is known today as Hobart, to stake a claim on some cheap land. By August 6, the nicknamed settlement of “Ragtown” had over 2,500 citizens, living in tents and other temporary structures. Today, Hobart has shed its shanty town roots and is the county seat of Kiowa County. The town has become a quiet ranching community known for its quality cotton, wheat and cattle.
